How we make money
Financial Hub is free to read, with no paywall and no subscription. To keep it that way, we earn money in a couple of clearly-defined ways. We think you deserve to know exactly how — so here it is, in plain English.
1. Affiliate links
Some links on our site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to open an account or buy a product, we may earn a commission from that provider. This comes out of the provider’s marketing budget — it never costs you anything extra, and the price or terms you get are the same as if you’d gone directly.
2. Advertising
We may display ads on some pages, particularly on free guides. Where we do, advertising is kept separate from our editorial content, and advertisers have no say over what we write.
3. How this affects our content — it doesn’t
This is the important part. Our recommendations, comparisons and conclusions are independent of how we earn money:
- we don’t accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage or rankings;
- a product doesn’t get featured, or ranked higher, just because it pays us a commission;
- where a great option doesn’t offer an affiliate arrangement, we’ll still tell you about it.

4. How we choose what to feature
We aim to feature products and providers based on how well they serve a typical UK reader — looking at cost, features, protections and reputation. When we mention a specific product, we try to explain who it suits and who it doesn’t.
5. What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal data — see our privacy policy.
- We don’t give personalised financial advice (we’re not FCA-authorised).
- We don’t let commercial relationships override the interests of our readers.
