Financial Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Financial Hub operates this website, which publishes plain-English UK personal finance guides, comparisons and calculators. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Financial Hub is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect special-category data (such as health, ethnicity or religion). Please do not send us such information.

5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as far as necessary:
- Analytics — Google (Google Analytics 4), to measure site usage. Only where you have allowed analytics cookies: if you have not allowed them, the Google tag is never added to the page and no request is made to Google. If you allow analytics and then withdraw it, we switch the tag off and reload the page so that it is not loaded again — though data sent while it was allowed has already reached Google. - Email / newsletter delivery — our email service provider, to send the updates you have subscribed to.
- Hosting and infrastructure — the providers that host this website and store its data.
- Advertising and affiliate partners — where applicable, to serve relevant ads or measure affiliate referrals. See how we make money.
We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the security of the site.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers (for example Google) are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum, so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep your data
- Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
- Enquiries — for as long as needed to deal with your query and a reasonable period afterwards.
- Analytics data — in line with the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- ask us to transfer your data (data portability);
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact page. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in every message. You do not need to contact us to withdraw cookie consent — use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page, which takes effect immediately.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us before you do.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No website or internet transmission is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
Our site contains links to third-party websites, including those of affiliate partners. This privacy policy does not apply to those sites — please read their own privacy policies before providing any personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site where appropriate.
